Privacy Policy

Last updated July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TableGenie, Inc. ("TableGenie," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the TableGenie mobile application (the "App"), our website at tablegenie.com (the "Site"), and related features and services (together, the "Services").

TableGenie helps you discover restaurants, make reservations, arrange home catering and events, visualize dishes in 3D and augmented reality (AR), order together at a shared table by scanning a QR code, and interact with an AI voice concierge called "Genie." Because several of these features rely on your device's sensors and on third-party providers, we want to be clear about what we collect and why.

If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. What information we collect

Information you provide

Information collected automatically

2. Device permissions we use

The App requests the following permissions only when you use a feature that needs them, and you can change or revoke them at any time in your device settings. Denying a permission simply disables that feature.

Permission Why we use it
Camera To scan the QR code at your table to join a live shared table, and to preview dishes in augmented reality. AR processing happens on your device.
Microphone To let you talk to the Genie voice concierge. Audio is only captured during an active voice session that you start.
Location (while using the app) To show restaurants near you and sort them by distance. We use foreground location only; we do not track your location in the background.
Calendar To add a confirmed reservation to your device calendar, if you choose to.
Notifications To send optional reminders about a reservation you started or booked. This is opt-in.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

4. Payments

Payments in the App — the reservation deposit and live shared-table checkout — are processed by a third-party, PCI-compliant payment processor. Your payment method details (card number, expiry, security code, or mobile-wallet token) are collected and handled directly by that processor through its own secure payment interface. We do not receive or store your full card details. We store only non-sensitive payment references, such as a payment identifier and the amounts (subtotal, deposit, tip, and any refund).

To complete a reservation deposit, we provide the payment processor with the details needed to process and receipt the charge — which may include the email and phone you entered, your party size and reservation date, the dishes ordered, and your anonymous user identifier. Funds are routed through the processor to the applicable restaurant's connected account, minus our platform fee. The payment processor handles this information under its own privacy policy.

5. Voice and AI features (Genie)

"Genie" is an optional AI voice concierge. You start a session by tapping the Genie control; it is never listening otherwise. When you use Genie:

These features are provided using third-party voice-processing and artificial-intelligence providers that convert your speech to text, generate Genie's responses, and carry the audio in real time. Your voice interactions are processed and may be retained by these providers under their own privacy policies. Within the App, the on-screen transcript is temporary and is cleared when a session ends.

AI responses may be imperfect. Genie is an automated assistant. Its responses are AI-generated and may be inaccurate or incomplete, and it can create or change reservations on your behalf, which may result in a deposit charge. Please review important details before relying on them.

6. Sharing with other people

Some features are collaborative, which means information you provide becomes visible to other people you dine or book with:

We also share your information as follows:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Service providers we work with

We use a limited number of third-party service providers that process information on our behalf, only as needed to run the Services and only for the purposes described in this Policy. Each is contractually required to protect the information and to use it solely to provide its service to us. These providers fall into the following categories:

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. If you would like more detail about the specific providers we use, contact us at [email protected].

8. Cookies and tracking

Our Site does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party marketing pixels, and the App does not use advertising identifiers or ad-tracking. We do use:

Because we do not use tracking technologies to monitor you across sites, we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

9. International data transfers

We and our service providers are located primarily in the United States, and several of our providers host data in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain records of your reservations and transactions, comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it. Information held by our payment, email, and infrastructure providers is retained according to their policies. You can ask us to delete your information as described in Section 13.

11. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our servers and reputable, security-conscious providers (for example, a PCI-compliant payment processor for payments). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device secure, since your reservations and orders are tied to your device.

12. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

13. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the App has no login, most of your on-device information can be cleared by deleting the App or clearing its data. To make a request about information we hold on our servers — including access or deletion — email us at [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

You can also control key data flows directly:

14. Region-specific rights

United States (including California)

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly collect the personal information of minors under 16. California and other US state residents may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information and to be free from discrimination for exercising them. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal information on the legal bases of performing our contract with you (to provide reservations, orders, and features you request), your consent (for example, device permissions and voice features), our legitimate interests (to secure, improve, and operate the Services), and compliance with legal obligations. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.

15. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
